The Hung Kings Festival 2005 will be the largest ever, with opening and closing ceremonies directed by well-known People’s Artist Pham Thi Thanh.
The Prime Minister has recently approved the Festival, bringing national importance and pressing organisers to rise to the occasion, said Ms Thanh.
The five-day festival (April 14-18) is expected to draw 1.5mil visitors to an area from the Hung Kings Temple to Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province with rituals at temples and pagodas on the Nghia Linh Mount. There will also be an ancestor’s death ceremony at the Thuong Temple on April 18 and a night festival at 8pm, April 14 at the museum of Viet Tri Town.
Folk games, art performances, and concerts will be held on the area from Nghia Linh Mount to Bach Hac cross-road as well.
Ten art troupes, including some form Sweden, the Republic of Korea and China will also join in a performance of nearly 3,000 on the night of April 14 at the Viet Tri Stadium.
The festival will begin with a 65-minute opening broadcast. |
